One of the topics raised by the REAL Party from the first day in its ongoing dialogue with the government has been improvement of the situation of civil society. The Party does not limit itself to regularly raising the issue before government agencies. Continuous exchange of views with civil society organizations is an integral part of this activity.
During the autumn session of the Milli Majlis, which begins on 30 September, Erkin Gadirli, MP and Member of the Political Committee of the REAL Party, plans to submit a bill on amendments to a number of legislative acts regulating CSO mode of operations.
Since 2 September, Erkin Gadirli and another member of the REAL Political Committee, Rasul Jafarov, have been holding new series of meetings with civil society representatives, lawyers and experts to ensure that the bill reflects the interests of CSOs .
The meetings re-evaluate changes to the legislation which had been introduced in 2013-2014 and had hindered the development of civil society, and hear concrete proposals addressing existing problems. Erkin Gadirli’s bill will be based on these proposals, and on results of these discussions.
Three meetings have been held so far with civil society representatives inculding Bashir Suleymanli, Samir Kazimli, Samad Rahimli, Novella Jafaroglu, Saida Gojamanli, Saadat Bananyarli, Shahla Ismayil, Ziya Guliyev, Dilara Efendiyeva and Inja Aliyeva. A few more meetings are planned for next week.
